Toyota Matrix Reliability And Durability: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2011 4dr Hatch 158-horsepower 2.4L I4
4-speed automatic AWD
this car is very reliable, the only parts which was replaced under warranty was the fuel cap which the "audible click" stopped working but the dealer forced it and it appeared to be working. They offered to replace the cap anyway under warranty then... which i accepted.
the battery went dead after 7 years which is normal.

This catagory is the #1 reason we looked at Toyota when we were new car shopping in 2006. Dependability and Resale. As I mentioned earlier, we're at 82,000 miles and have kept on top of the manufacturer suggested regular maintenance - oil/filters changes, transmission/transfer case fluids changes, coolant and refrigerant changes, brakes at 45,000miles, etc. We have had 100% dependability with this little rascal and it has NOT failed to start and give us a ride,,,, ever. The Toyota Matrix delivers what we had hoped and what we expected it would. full 2006 Toyota Matrix review

so far no real mechanical issues. There was a hard start issue which Toyota/dealership eventually admitted and corrected after many attempts and denial that this problem existed full 2005 Toyota Matrix review

Toyotas are known for reliability and durability; this car replaced a 14-year-old Toyota with 180,000 miles (and going strong). I bought this Matrix with 73,000 miles, and expect to get over 200,000 out of it. full 2004 Toyota Matrix review
