Repaired leaking emission control hoses by clamping them. They come from the factory only with a compression fit. As the hose hardens with age, it will allow air in, causing a Malfunction Illumination Lamp (MIL) lamp to illuminate showing a leaking gas cap. Sometimes the cap is the problem, but sometimes the problem at the emission control hoses, especially near the engine (due to the heat).

City Mileage dropped from 19 mpg to 15 mpg. Removed and cleaned EGR valve twice. Mileage returned to 19-20 mpg. Also ran a bottle of fuel injector cleaner which seemed to help. Cost is for the two cans of carburetor cleaner.
128120 mi

C $300
Transmission fluid was leaking from rad core. Transmission cooler was integrated into radiator, replaced the entire unit.
151900 mi

C $10
There was leak underneath the engine. Found that oil gaskets (there are few) leak for high mile cars. So all the gaskets around the timing belt area were replaced. pan gasket replaced, brakes. There was a loud noise one day from underneath the car. Checked and found that there was a gap between mid catalytic converter and the rear exhaust pipe. The bolts were rusted around that area. So ended up buying bolts and a new gasket.

Replaced passenger side front motor mount.
225000 mi

US $90
broken front motor mount. replaced
284000 mi

US $12
Seafoam cleaned throttle body/ top end. I'm getting a vibration either on throttle tip in or sometimes at steady state on level roads. No codes. Dealer & another Master mechanic suggested BG or SF intake/throttle body/top end cleaning. SeaFoam helped a lot, but it's still not all the way gone.

134000 mi

US $400
Front engine mount was broken whereas the right engine mount was rotting. I could've waited an additional 10K-20K but didn't want any catastrophic failure of the third and final engine mount nor the 2 mounts for the transmission. Oil pan bolt and pan threads were stripped...:( It's made out of aluminum so make sure a new crush washer is always applied with each oil change and make sure they don't over tighten it!
115000 mi

US $1000
Cost prohibitive repair to have the dealer remove and replace the right front axle exhaust heatshield. But the rattle is driving me outta my mind.

DMV said gas cap failed emissions. Pretty sure the tech purposely failed the cap to meet a quota, as cap is tested each cycle by the vehicle's OBD-2 diag. Anyway, failure requires a repair, so cap was needlessly replaced. Cap not stocked at any dealer..
80100 mi

US $150
Valve Lash required adjustment. Attempted self repair. Didn't break anything and it's better, but not perfect. Need to try again.
87000 mi Motor mounted had failed and were source of clunking on acceleration. Valve lash adjustment performed by dealer (following earlier self-repair attempt). Getting the feel just right is difficult. Dealer was better but still not perfect.
