Intermittently, the speedometer would cease to function and/or fluctuate for a portion of my commute. Occasionally it was accompanied by rough shifts, but then normalized within about 2-5 minutes. A code of P0720 was given after the problem persisted through multiple drives and ultimately was self-diagnosed (Googled) to be a problem with the output speed sensor. I was able to find a speed sensor from NAPA that fit the car for $32, which was better than most other stores (at around $50) and online retailers didn't carry many options.
