24800 mi | I complained about buzzing engine noise at 1400 rpm. Dealer showed me Honda doc about similar noise due to water pump/alternator drive belt. This would be replaced when water pump pulley recall is done. Parts were ordered. Drive belt and water pump pulley, the recall-related parts ordered per previous trip, were replaced. Water pump and gasket were replaced pursuant to a factory recall at no cost to me. I didn't get a recall notice, but maybe first owner got it before I bought the vehicle used in April 2009. The recall seems to have eliminated the 1400 rpm buzz also. |

215000 mi US $5 |
Looking at engine, right side of camshaft there is a round cover about 1.5" diameter. The o-ring dried and cracked after 14 years of driving and leaked oil onto transmission and down onto driveway, about 1/8 quart per week. Only leaked when engine was running. Wiring manifold from computer to sensors is right next to it and there is no slack so moving it out of the way was difficult. Disconnecting the wires from sensors was more difficult to get to so I didn't do that, only disconnected the ones I could easily see and get to. |
