2008 4dr Sedan 340-horsepower 4.2L V8

Depending on how tall your front passengers are, your rear passengers may not have any room to sit. Can fit 4 average sized adults, but it will be tight. see full Audi A4 / S4 / RS4 review

2008 4dr Sedan 255-horsepower 3.1L V6

2008 4dr Sedan 420-horsepower 4.2L V8
6-speed manual AWD
Superb V8 that revs like the dickens all the way to 8k rpm. Stock tuning is a bit weird when not in Sport mode, as you can really feel the power being limited down low. The throttle is extremely responsive in Sport mode, and really adds a sense of urgency when driving. I only test drove the M3, but the two engines seem to be pretty similar. I'd give the nod to the Audi V8 for a bit more torque and rev-happiness. The Audi V8 also has a much throatier, deeper sound. The M3 sounds almost artificial in comparison. Shifter felt a bit long and sloppy at first, but I was coming from a Miata with a short throw kit, so that was to be expected. As I've gotten used to the car, I've found the throws to be perfectly acceptable, and while the shifter may not engage as positively as I'd like, there is still enough feel and positive engagement for those looking for it. The shifter in the M3 is absolutely shameful. It seems BMW has focused all their efforts on the DCT transmission, as the shifter in the BMW wouldn't have been out of place in my dad's Dodge Ram. see full Audi A4 / S4 / RS4 review
2008 4dr Sedan 255-horsepower 3.1L V6
6-speed manual AWD
The 3.2 engine has good low end torque - much better than I expected with an engine at this level of tuning. The Quattro system means smooth acceleration on any surface. The 3.2 applies power smoothly, thus it is faster than it seems. see full Audi A4 / S4 / RS4 review

2006 4dr Sedan turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Auto Transmission has no clue what the engine is doing, or maybe even that it's a transmission. When it has showed for work, it constantly shuffles around through it's 6 gears at any speed below 45mph. Above 45MPH you will always find it in 6th gear, always. It annoyingly favors unlocking the torque converter vs. downshifting when additional power is needed for hills, acceleration, etc. This causes a surge of power, rarely necesarry, which causes you back off the throttle, where it then upshifts back to sixth and slows. A repitious and annoying cycle to stay at 45-55mph when climbing hills. When it does decide to drop out of 6th gear, it then immediatly locks the torque converter back to the engine. The constant lock and unclocking torque converter and and gear hunting under 45 mph is annoying. The manual control feature is a nice addition but the entire gear chift is cheaply made and clearly taken from a Passat. Power is good and acceleration brisk from the 2.0 when the turbo is spooled & warm. Many times, power is not uniform and unpredictible. The engine is very noisy, and sounds like a very old sewing machine at idle. The torque band is solid and the car pulls well. see full Audi A4 / S4 / RS4 review

What Our Members Are Saying about the Tires of the 2007 Audi A4 / S4 / RS4

2007 Audi A4 / S4 / RS4 Tires: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2008 4dr Sedan 420-horsepower 4.2L V8
6-speed manual AWD
It's an AWD car, so all 4 tires should really be replaced when one is damaged. Audi says that 4/32" is acceptable tolerance, but I feel like it's cheap insurance compared to possibly damaging the AWD system. This is the only time in your life you will think 4 Michelin Pilot Super Sports are cheap. see full Audi A4 / S4 / RS4 review
