Transmission doesn't allow shifting out of park or between gears that require the shift knob be fully depressed. The knob does not depress and there is resistance. Putting a screwdriver in the shift lock overrides the problem but becomes annoying.
Full transmission replacement following a clutch failure. Possibly linked to accident, however could be manufacturer defect based on my personal research into the matter. There have been several cases reported of this same thing happening.
