C $5500
High speed transmission sensor failed. Since that transmission was only used in 2011 in the Regal, and this car arrived in Calgary from the Opel factory in Germany, that’s where the part had to come from. No codes came up when it first failed, so it was kitted and put back in. After 200km it failed again with the code. Sat for 2 months the second time until the part came in and it was replaced. So the first repair was unsuccessful, but the second one was.
101000 mi Brought car in for 100K mi. transmission fluid and filter change. Waited a half hour then service writer told me this car is an early 2011 and has a nonremovable filter, the special transmission fluid costs $400 for 8 quarts plus labor; but they do not recommend changing the transmission fluid EVER. They said when the transmission starts slipping, it's time to get rid of the car. I took their advice.
118000 mi While driving on the highway, rpms went up. Car had gone into 2nd gear limp mode, would not shift to any other forward gear. "Limped" back to dealer, was told transmission needed rebuilt or replaced. Traded car.
70000 mi Service Transmission June 16, 2013 replace "Transmission Control Module". June 24, 2013 dealer clear codes in "DTCS" history. June 27, 2013 dealer service center found technical service bulletin #PI0442 Document ID: 2629205.

69000 mi Transmission failed car towed to shop. 2700 for repair could not afford.
71300 mi

US $1700
Repaired transmission
72000 mi The car would not advance past the 1st gear. Also, the car could not go in reverse. The transmission was totally rebuilt. The warranty costs to GM were between $4000 to $5000.
