Transmission started shifting hard, then dashboard light came on and wouldn't shift into higher gears
Tech replaced temperature sensor, checked trans fluid. Eventually found corrosion on electrical connectors that seemed to be the problem. Connectors cleaned and working find 1 year later.

The gear position sensor had malfunctioned causing the car to come out of gear when in reverse and go into neutral. The dealership was able to install a new KIA bracket on the transmission cable to prevent the issue from reoccuring.

Problem was caused by faulty mfg heat treatment process on the drive splines that broke. The drive axel half shaft and transmission were both repaired.
