2012 Nissan Versa

Engine not specified

74000 mi Transmission was extremely jerky. Also fluctuated up and down in RPMs when driving down hill. Mechanic noticed a lot of play and dealer replaced transmission at 50,000 miles.
60000 mi

US $755
1 of the sensors went out causing the car to not go.Part was ordered & car repaired, but tech said Check Engine Light kept coming on & could be a sign of transmission problem. Traded car in.

2012 Nissan Versa 4dr Sedan

109-horsepower 1.6L I4 CVT FWD

52000 mi

US $400
CVT complete failure while driving. Car had to be towed. Dealer reports that the transmission fluid got too hot and melted the bearings. Nissan replaced the transmission with a rebuild eating 90% of the cost. The car was out 2k miles out of warranty. Our SN was not covered by the models that had their warranty extended in previous settlements.
69440 mi

C $4800
Transmission had given a small amount of slip once or twice, but when it goes you know. Uncontolled rpms with lunging motions during any form of acceleration. The dealer diagnosed and provided my options of a used cvt for 3200 or new 4000. So obviously the new cvt. Completed work came to nearly 5k.

2012 Nissan Versa 4dr Hatch

122-horsepower 1.8L I4 CVT FWD

43000 mi

US $132
Transmission started slipping when increasing speed with cruise control. Engine RPM would rapidly jump up 300-400 RPM and then the slipping would stop and RPM would slowly go back down. MPG also dropped by 5 MPG. No codes showed up on the Nissan Consult code reader, but I had them to replace the CVT fluid and the problem has gone away for now. My fingers are crossed as this is usually a precursor in the Nissan CVT transmission failure.

2012 Nissan Versa 4dr Hatch

122-horsepower 1.8L I4 4-speed automatic FWD

15000 mi Front seal leaking (discovered at oil change elsewhere). Replaced torque converter as well as seal under factory warranty. Blamed on factory "quality control". I am happy with new trans at 15k. Had heard high-pitched whine now gone.
