22000 mi I had 2 oil leaks from the engine, detonation (pinging) on acceleration. Toyota just wanted to do the least possible to legally make the car run, told me to lemon law it if I was unhappy, so I sold it.
33300 mi idling too slow. mechanic said he needed to do a thorough "carbon cleaning" Chirping noise, replaced fuel pump with a later model.

2300 mi Idle dip (car tries to stall out sometimes) and "chirping" when idling - two separate issues - fuel pump (TSB for chirp) ordered and ECU reflash requested by Toyota regional rep (rec'd letter in December that Toyota has TSB for ECU reflash)
4300 mi Special Service Campaign C0W 2614LA - aka TSB - ECM reflash for idle dip. Fuel pump chirp - replaced fuel pump
11120 mi Engine threw a rod due to a timing related issue, TSB S-SB-0033-13 "Hard Start, Rough Idle, Camshaft Sensor or Misfire DTCs". Short block and one head (including valve gear) was replaced.

18600 mi

C $150
Very slow to fill up with gas after previous trip too dealer for repair
10000 mi High Pressure Fuel Pump replaced under warranty due to a chirping noise during idle after the engine is warmed up. The newest design change was in Feb 2013. Those new pump has the same part no, but it has a green dot next to the part no.
31000 mi High pressure fuel pump that was replaced earlier was making the noise again. Even though I did not care for the noise and I didn't say anything to the dealer, they told me there is a newer version of the pump and replaced it under warranty.
10000 mi Check Engine Light
29700 mi Weeping oil around head gasket
3000 mi Complete engine failure. Fuel pump replaced, Cam gears in left and right banks replaced.
7000 mi Mild loss of power by engine under load and low rpms. Took to the dealer who did not sense the issue on test drive. Engine bogs down at times as though being gently braked. Worse under A/C and lower rpms. Performence is down. Bad gas? Engine loses power episodically. Maybe a 25% loss of power through the throttle that necessitates pressing harder on the accelerator. Problem comes on very quickly then goes away. Usually happens while at neutral throttle at lower rpm's.
8800 mi Note: the engine power issue I reported starting at 6,000K resolved by 7,000K and 4 fill-ups. It was likely bad gas that caused ignition system to dial-back power. FR-S may be very sensitive to bad gas with its unique dual-injection system.
5700 mi Fuel pump replaced due to "chirping".
7000 mi Fuel pump chirping not solved from prior pump, replacement. Told by Toyota that this was "normal". Plan to take it in again for a 3rd and 4th time and then make a claim under the Lemon law.
Fuel pump still chirping.
2000 mi High pressure fuel pump squeaking noise
8000 mi chirping from engine...fuel pump etc. diagnosed as problem and replaced under warranties.
9000 mi fuel pump replaced for second time
