16800 mi Sunroof makes terrible squeal upon opening/closing when the car has been sitting in the sun. This is the second trip for this problem - techs have been unable to replicate sound and thus have not fixed problem.
29800 mi Took my car in for 30K scheduled maintenance, was told that the sunroof had a recall notice, and that they would repair/replace. Hoped it would finally solve the squealing-on-opening issue when the car has been sitting in the sun - didn't. At least it didn't cost me anything!
31000 mi Sent dealer videos of the sunroof making horrible screeching noises and getting stuck closed. Problem only arose when the car had been baking in the sun, and only on the first attempted opening of the roof. Dealer replaced the sunroof guide rail and a broken clip, and adjusted the glass.

12060 mi Sunroof drain tube was broken as there was water marks in the head liner. The handle in the roof was loose and they can not get it back into place. The time in the garage is due to that. New mechanism for handle has been difficult to fix.
22320 mi Rust bubble on rear quarter panel
5000 mi Rear seat base cushion lose at front. Flips up when passenger exits car.
1000 mi Sunroof drain plug blocked due to car sitting on dealer lot from stop sale order for 2015 VW diesels. Dealer tested sunroof for leaks, found leak, cleared drain.
1500 mi VW has determined the sunroof leak can not be repaired. Car has achieved lemon law status and VW has offered to replace the car with a new 2017 GTI Autobahn. I accepted the offer and will be turning the TDI in by month's end. Continued water leaks at A pillars, visors and sunroof control panel. First repair attempt, which took a week, to clear drain lines and replace cracked sunroof frame lines did not resolve the problem. Car went in again for 28 days to replace sunroof drain lines, fix sunroof rails based on either a VW technical bulletin or recall that was issued in Sept. for sunroof rails. Dealer says sunroof doesn't leak...we shall see. I've reached lemon law status if the repair doesn't work. VW has real problems with this panoramic sun roof, which continue with 2017 Golf model years based on my research.
