2016 Mazda CX-5 4dr SUV

184-horsepower 2.5L I4 6-speed shiftable automatic FWD

15000 mi Brought the car in for 15k mile service. I also asked them to check the transmission because I was having intermittent issues, where going from Reverse to Drive introduced some sort of delay even when the gas pedal is pressed. I could not reproduce the issue every time I try to, but apparently the dealership was able to. They said their tech traced it to an internal transmission problem and they replaced the transmission under warranty.

2016 Mazda CX-5 4dr SUV

184-horsepower 2.5L I4 6-speed shiftable automatic AWD

66960 mi Poor response when accelerating. Ordered new PCM.
46000 mi Reflashed the PCM due to jolts when stopped at a light.
3000 mi Something is rubbing in the left front. Noticeable when driving 20 mph and slowing to a stop. Dealer could not feel problem. Independent mechanic did and says the front transfer case is buzzing when the engine is running with the car on a rack. This has been present since 500 miles. Two dealers have evaluated without solving the problem.
35000 mi Noticed significant fluid leaking from rear differential. Dealer diagnosed as rear diff fill-plug was loose. Dealer was the last to tough the read diff at 30K flush service. Dealer topped on rear diff with fluid and made sure the fill and drain plugs were tightened properly. Rear diff has been completely dry since.
1000 mi At 772 miles, car would not engage in drive then would slam into gear. When trying to accelerate would start slipping badly. Warning lights: TPMS, TCS then AT & engine. Transmission replaced, was told Sports Mode was causing internal failure
1000 mi Transmission died @ 400 miles.; engine would rev up and suddenly slam in when stopped at a light, stop sign, etc. Dealer replaced w/new (supposedly) transmission. 1000+ miles now, and so far so good.
7000 mi Transmission started hesitating while shifting from neutral, reverse, or stop lights up to 30 secs. Shifts were very hard. Transmission was replaced under warranty.
17360 mi Broken gimball cracking sound when turning.
26040 mi I reported hard shifting and knock feel from transmission when i let go of the accelerator and re-accelerate. They test drive and report same thing. Reset and reprogramm computer seem ok for now. Will have to see on long run.
