the car is burning through oil for some reason. Dealer cant seem to figure it out either, this is the 4th time, they always say the car is fine, yet I tend to go back every 3500 miles or so because the oil light turns on. First time it came on, dealer said they probably didn't check it correctly. Second time they just called it a fluke in relation to the first time. Oil change was done at 9500 miles (VW states every 10K), Oil like came on again at 11500 miles... then they said the tech probably didn't properly fill it at oil change. Fuel/evap system suction pump replaced under warranty as part of recall Have noticed coolant smell emanating from engine bay when warm since new. Coolant level has slowly decreased.
Dealership perfromed leakdown test and could not find a leak in the cooling system. Also, they performed a visual inspection of the cooling system and could find no evidence of a leak. They topped off the coolant reservoir and advised me that it is not unusual for vehicles with pressurized coolant systems to smell of coolant without an obvious leak.
I will monitor the vehicle's coolant use and report back if more work is done.
