Replaced Torque Converter due to minor grinding noise at 35-45mph while on flat road surface at low RPM and lightly tapping the gas pedal. Also replaced Starter. Because of torque converter replaced last month, it placed undue stress on 4th gear and therefore broke. Easy repair, in and out in a day for about $350, I think. My extended warranty covered me again! Warranty was about to expire in 120mi. Replaced Torque Converter due to minor grinding noise at 35-45mph while on flat road surface at low RPM and lightly tapping the gas pedal. |

Transmission started slipping a day after repairs. Dealership flush of transmission was inadequate to solve problem. Sent to another shop with a pressurized transmission flusher. Slipping returned within days. Rebuild of transmission, another $1,500, same cost as all the flushes. Coolant in transmission had loosened glue holding the friction plates in the torque converter. |
