Dealer claims ECM software update fixes the fault codes found (exhaust cam position). Check engine light from a fault code from the secondary air injection system. Road debris damage of supercharger radiator. Replaced, and flush and fill radiator. There was a TSB from Audi 4 years ago (TSB 2034439/2) that identified the potential for a rock to enter through the tiny slits (2”) in the base of the A6 grill. They then provided a free plastic inside intercooler radiator cover to try an prevent the damage. I received that TSB. However it was not enough to prevent this from occurring. Arguably it could be considered a design issue. I am annoyed that even after getting the TSB, I still got the issue and had to pay $1600 for the repair.

Saw two codes flash on secondary device, P2006 & P2007, which means there is a vacuum leak. Supercharger was removed to replace thermostat, mechanic may have left an air leak in the system to cause code and engine check light. Update: Turns out the dealership when they put it back together they crossed the vacuum lines on cylinder banks one and two, thus the check engine light. When they tore into it a second time they discovered their mistake and made the correction.  Coolant temperature climbed as thermostat became stuck closed. Thermostat replaced, check engine light came on as I was leaving the dealership. Replaced by dealer under CPO warranty. Otherwise $1000.

Catalytic converter snapped off from engine. It was a clean break therefore the shop was able to weld it back together. Saved about $1,000. Part alone was going to be 950. According to dealer this happens quite often which begs the question why the hell Audi doesn't do something about it.

Since purchasing with approximately 143,000 miles, the engine has used a *lot* of oil, a quart every 670-900 miles(!) A mechanic friend suggested adding Seafoam to the engine oil, which I did for approximately 200 miles before changing the oil. We'll see if it helps.
151500 mi

Two (plastic!) coolant bleeder screws were broken and leaking near the supercharger. Had to be tapped out, remnants of plastic in threads removed, and new screws installed. After the repair, oil usage increased dramatically (1 qt every 200 miles or less!). Couldn't get back to shop to have them address for a few months, then went on a one-month long trip during which the car just sat. After sitting for that month, oil consumption has fallen to nearly 900 miles last time I checked. Quite bizarre!

After having the 115K service performed by an independent Audi mechanic, the ESP, EPC, and CEL (blinking) lights became illuminated on the drive back home. I returned to the independent Audi repair shop. The owner of the Audi shop (an Audi expert) checked the car out. He did not find any reason for the ESP, EPC, and CEL fault. However, he suggested that the ignition coils be replaced. The ignition coils were replaced at cost with no labor charge as a courtesy for the inconvenience of having to return to the shop After having the ignition coils replaced by the independent Audi mechanic, the EPC, EPS, and CEL (blinking) lights came back on the way back home. The vehicle was then taken to the Audi deal for analysis of the codes. The dealer kept the vehicle for several days, but could not any reason for the codes. I was charged $300. This was essentially, a $100 charge to troubleshoot each code separately. Although I explained that the warning lights all came on at the same time, the service adviser indicated that they needed to troubleshoot each code separately. Later, the service adviser claimed that the time that the mechanic spent trying to diagnose the problem was easily double the amount that I paid. The car was returned to me without the mechanic at the dealer finding any problem. The codes were reset by the mechanic and did not occur again while the car was at the dealership.

EPC, ESP, and CEL (blinking) lights became illuminated again. Car was towed to the independent Audi repair shop. Audi mechanic diagnosed the problem as the infamous Audi carbon build-up issue in the 3.0 V6 TSI engine. The left and right intake manifolds were replaced and a carbon cleanup was performed. Water pump was replaced at this time as a precaution.

Ac will not cool air when stationary. Found coolant fan control module is defective and will not run the fans at high speed. To the point the overheat warning light came on. Basically the complete engine cooling fan assembly was replaced by a used unit from a scrap yard because buying the fan control module is expensive and requires to splice the wires. So I decided to look for a good condition used assembly and just a straightforward replacement to keep the wires intact without any splice connection. This fixed the ac and engine cooling. BTW diagnosis reviled that the fan control module as malfunctioned and the condenser pressure sensor fault.

Check Engine light went on. My OBD II code scanner showed code P2404, which indicates that the sensor in the EVAP leak detection pump system is returning a value that is out of the acceptable range. Technician at the shop investigated and determined that the EVAP system's purge valve had failed. The valve was replaced with a new one, but I was warned that once this problem was cured, one or more other EVAP system faults might become apparent. No additional issues have surfaced yet.
131842 mi

US $609
Check Engine light came on. I checked with OBD-II scanner and found code P0455-- EVAP emissions control system leak detected (no purge flow or large leak). The shop determined that the EVAP system's leak detection pump had failed, so they replaced it.
132064 mi Check Engine light wen on again. My OBD scanner showed me that codes for the Evap Control Purge Valve and the Evap Control Leak Detection Pump, previously present separately on recent occasions, were now BOTH present, even though both components had been replaced. The technician could detect no other issues and cleared the codes. He told me that he HOPED these codes had popped up as a result of incomplete clearing of codes after the most recent repair. There was no charge, since the recent Evap Control System repairs were under the shop's repair warranty. In the sixty or so miles I have driven since I got the car back, no warnings have appeared.
