Just after I put down my money for European delivery and Consumer Reports "worst reliability" came out for the V6. This web site reassured me about the cause of the report, the plastic housing water pump, that no longer comes on the V6.

Ford Explorers were long a bad brand based on the tire fiasco that was proven, for the most part, was owner created. So have high expectations that it will improve.

Whenever someone asks what car I bought, I say a 'Buick Regal GS'. I then get asked, "What are you, 70 years old? My grandpa drives a Buick!" That stigma will last for a while. But trust me, nothing screams "old person" about the GS.
