Best Reason to Buy the BMW 3-Series: Reliability & durability
Car has had outstanding realiability considering its use daily in a four season climate. Parts are easly to get and inexpensive if you shop wisely. Many DYI resources on the net for regular service needs, and thus far most projects have been straightforward and easy.

Best Reason Not to Buy the BMW 3-Series: Cargo capacity & towing
Small boot. We have the 325iT. I seriously think there is more room in the sedan trunk.

Best Reason to Buy the BMW 3-Series: Handling
I used to rent Zipcars, and once a year I'd treat myself to their BMW at $100/day. It was the most enjoyable car I'd ever driven. When I got bored with my Honda Civic, I decided to splurge, so why not go for the best treat I'd experienced?

Best Reason Not to Buy the BMW 3-Series: Fuel economy
I knew it would drink a lot of premium fuel, but my first day of driving around the city, mostly normally, was less than 15 mpg. I swear, I wasn't pounding the gas pedal either!

Best Reason to Buy the BMW 3-Series: Powertrain performance
Wonderful and smooth power delivery in all conditions. Traction control works well with winter tires during snowy conditions and going up 15% grade hills with 3-4 inches of snow. Very precise braking, steering and placement on the road. Very satisfied with 5+ second 0-60 times.

Best Reason Not to Buy the BMW 3-Series: Tires
OEM Conti ProContactSport RFT are noisy!

Best Reason to Buy the BMW 3-Series: Exterior styling
looks nice, and had good gas mileage at the time

Best Reason Not to Buy the BMW 3-Series: Tires
run flat tires are great when you think about it, but when you experience a flat they turn out to be a curse. First off they are noisy and do not last long and very very expensive. The TPM monitors all tires so you never know which one is low You can only run the tire 50 miles when flat and at low speed so you need to take surface roads, if you are on a long trip you are out of luck, replacement tires are hard to find they need to be ordered Can't repair run flats, so if one goes bad chances are you will need to replace all 4 Once the TPM goes off chances are the Runflat is already being damaged if you continue to go on the warning light you will be replacing the tire

Best Reason to Buy the BMW 3-Series: Past personal experience

Best Reason to Buy the BMW 3-Series: Powertrain performance
I love the torque and responsiveness of this car. The six-speed transmission is properly geared for my driving.

Best Reason Not to Buy the BMW 3-Series: Quietness
This is the noisiest BMW I've owned. I have a low-frequency hum that I suspect emanates from the all-wheel drive system. The tires do not help as they are very noisy too.

Best Reason to Buy the BMW 3-Series: Exterior styling
The 2012 BMW 328i was redesigned this year and I like the fresh style and design. Plus, the car has a bigger cabin and the doors open 15 degrees more to allow a person an easier time of getting in and out.

Best Reason Not to Buy the BMW 3-Series: Price or payments
The only down side to a BMW would be with the price tag, but if you demand economy and performance from a dependable and reliabile car, then there is a price.

Best Reason to Buy the BMW 3-Series: Powertrain performance
While it still can\'t be described as a torque monster, the S65 motor spins up quickly, and the car flat out flies. As a previous E46 M3 owner who wasn\'t thrilled with the \'new\' look, I was sold on this car as soon as I drove i

Best Reason Not to Buy the BMW 3-Series: Fuel economy
While you might say \'why bitch if you can afford the car?\' the mpg can be SHOCKINGLY bad. I knew what I was getting into, and yes, I can afford it, but wow. My True Delta average is 16.5mpg but that can dip into the 12\'s bumper to bum

Best Reason to Buy the BMW 3-Series: Handling
Sports car like handling without the comfort penalty. Handing performance exceeds my ability and willingness to push the limit.

Best Reason Not to Buy the BMW 3-Series: Warranty, scheduled maintenance cost
Car has been reliable to date but all BMW maintenance costs a ton. Cars are over engineered which makes even some basic task harder. For example, even changing the battery requires a dealer visit to reset the computer which monitors the battery.
