Why the 2003 Cadillac DeVille?

Price or payments

This car is a great deal used as the depreciation is significant over the first few years of ownership.

Powertrain performance

Northstar V-8 is a world class, powerful, fuel efficient, low maintenance, reliable engine.

Fuel economy

300hp and 25+MPG highway for a very large and heavy car is great.

Insurance cost

Cheap to insure and good used car prices.

Ride smoothness

Rides like a dream.

Why Not the 2003 Cadillac DeVille?

Reliability & durability

Crankshaft sensors, transmission torque converter trouble codes, coolant system leaks/lights, and window regulators are common problem areas.

Depreciation

I feel sorry for anyone who buys this car new as they will never be able to keep up with the depreciation curve.

Controls and instruments

Air Conditioning and heater system design is lousy. Noisy fan on all settings, poor temp control, requires constant user input to stay comfortable, and tar like bits of foam spit out of the ducts. Overall, pretty to look at but disappointing.
