Each time the truck was started, a warning came up in the Driver Information Control Center warning of a steering problem. There never was any actual issue with the steering, but there have been many reports of problems with 2015-2016 Colorados and GMC Canyons losing steering suddenly while driving. I wanted to make sure that I didn't suffer that fate. Resolution was to replace a cable in the electrical steering system that had been damaged by mice. Note that the rack and pinion steering in the Colorado is electrically driven and not a power assisted mechanical system.
