2008 Chevrolet HHR Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by jzbikowski

Fuel economy
RE the HHR SS model, highway mileage with heavy footing out of toll booths with 3 total passengers yielded 27.5 mpg.
Handling
The HHR SS ran totally flat in curves on backroads, like it was on rails, thanks to the FE5 suspension.
Cargo capacity
For a vehicle the size of most subcompacts, the cargo area is much larger than anything in its class.
Brand reputation & image
Critics may bash American brains when it comes to engineering, but owners have a different story to tell. I have had my issue with Asian vehicles and had lasting luck with domestics, so I use my own experiences to guide my mechanical judgement.
Dealer practices
A little more accomodating than the high pressure Asian dealerships, but they are still dealerships in the end and always have angles to take extra money from you.
Discounts & incentives
Smaller incentives for cars like the HHR, which are in more demand than the guzzlers. You would think that the mfg would want more market share.
