Why the 2003 Chevrolet Impala?

Past personal experience

I used a rental unit for a week long trip of over 2000 miles and fell in love with the comfort and great fuel economy for a large car.

Discounts & incentives

I picked one up at the end of the model year and received almost 30% off MSRP.

Ride smoothness

It has a very comfortable ride, and the LS has better tires and suspension than the base model. All in all, a comfortable ride with decent handling.

Powertrain performance

The 3.8 is a great compromise between performance, fuel economy and durability. I chose the 3.8 for the additional durability of the iron block over the 3.4 aluminum block. The transmission was a durable, proven design which should last forever.

Fuel economy

For such a large car, the fuel economy is amazing. Like most vehicles, if you drive it hard the economy is poor. However, if you can drive sensibly on the highway at about 105 kph or 65 mph it will easily get over 30 mpg (38 mpg Canadian)!

Why Not the 2003 Chevrolet Impala?
