Why the 2004 Chevrolet Malibu?

Cargo capacity

Hatchback feature is great compromise between sedan and wagon. No sedan comes anywhere close to the Maxx in cargo carrying capability!

Depreciation

The depreciation was huge, making it a good value for a used car purchase (when compared to at least average reliability).

Rear seat room & comfort

Rear seat legroom beyond anything you would expect in a midsize sedan/hatch/wagon. Plus, the seats slide up to 7" to maximize either rear seat legroom or cargo capability.

Fuel economy

Amazing fuel economy for a mid-sized peppy V6 engine. Good compromise of more than adequate power and well-above average fuel economy. Reviewers have noted the tranny is tweaked to favour fuel economy over towing ability -- perfect for most drivers.
