2011 Malibu LT1 A member from Missouri, United States Best Reason to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Powertrain performance Very good. Smooth performance. Best Reason Not to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Materials & workmanship In the LT1 trim, the seats are cloth which is very good but door panels are hard plastic. Happy with my 2010 Malibu A member from Oregon, United States Best Reason to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Fuel economy My fuel economy has been better than the EPA ratings. Having said that I don't drive the car hard. Best Reason Not to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Interior styling I am not a fan of the aqua blue tones on the dash, nor of the fake wood in the car. Other Reasons to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Exterior styling, Audio & nav systems, Quietness, Price or payments Other Reasons Not to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Brand reputation & image, Safety & braking This member owns or leases the reviewed vehicle. read full review |

A member from New Hampshire, United States Best Reason to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Price or payments Got a really good lease deal. Didn't want to purchase a car at the time. Best Reason Not to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Front seat room I'm 6'4" tall and 60 years old. I have a tough time getting in and out due to the low roof. Other Reasons to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Fuel economy, Ride smoothness This member owns or leases the reviewed vehicle. read full review |

Dependable, Inexpensive Transportation A member from New Jersey, United States Best Reason to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Fuel economy Gets about 26-27mpg in real-world driving - city commute of ~10mi one way. Great fuel economy for a bigger car. Best Reason Not to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Powertrain performance The 2.2L 4cyl engine, while great for gas mileage, is underpowered for such a large car. It's fine once I'm at cruising speed; however, I wish it worked a little better accelerating. Other Reasons to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Front seat support & comfort, Insurance & depreciation Other Reasons Not to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Handling, Materials & workmanship This member owns or leases the reviewed vehicle. read full review |

2008 Malibu LS A member from Utah, United States Best Reason to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Price or payments We found this car used with 15,000 miles for about $5,000 less than any other used Malibu available. Best Reason Not to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Front seat support & comfort The front passenger seat is like sitting in a hole. It can be difficult to get out of. Other Reasons to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Quietness, Brand reputation & image Other Reasons Not to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Cargo capacity & towing This member used to own or lease the reviewed vehicle. read full review |

A member from Tennessee, United States Best Reason to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Quietness Low interior noise was a major factor in this car search, and the Malibu Eco was easily the quietest car I tested with the Buick Regal a close second. Camry and Accord had significantly more cabin noise from the engine and road. Best Reason Not to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Ride smoothness Though excellent on paved surfaces, some lateral movement on grooved concrete which I suspect to be related to the Goodyear Assurance tires; when these are worn, I plan to replace them with Bridgestone Ecopia 422's. Other Reasons to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Fuel economy, Powertrain performance, Feature availability, Materials & workmanship Other Reasons Not to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Rear seat room & comfort, Cargo capacity & towing, Discounts & incentives, Past personal experience This member owns or leases the reviewed vehicle. read full review |

No sedan comes anywhere close to the Maxx in cargo carrying capability! A member from Tennessee, United States Best Reason to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Fuel economy Great gas mileage for a mid-size. You can apply the money you save on gas to pay for the transmission rebuild. Best Reason Not to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Reliability & durability Transmission solenoid failed at less than 85,000 miles. Cost a lot to fix. I had a Ford that ran 164,000 miles with only transmission maintenance. Front steering thumps when turned to the left. It goes away if you lube the steering shaft. Other Reasons to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Ride smoothness Other Reasons Not to Buy the Chevrolet Malibu: Powertrain performance, Materials & workmanship, Quietness This member used to own or lease the reviewed vehicle. read full review |
