same problem as always. check engine light comes on
truck starts to cut out. running real rough and dies, will not start, has to be towed. let sit for a couple of days and will run good for awhile. then starts all over again..
Never could fix cutting out problem. Spent about $2,800 trying.
Engine lost power and began popping (backfiring) through air intake system. On interstate, got towed to a Ford shop where they disconnected the faulty mass airflow sensor to put the engine in 'limp' mode to drive the final 600 miles home.
Replaced fuel pump module due to failing pump. Car still would run and drive but would crank for some time before it would start. Installed an OEM Delphi brand pump module, I'm a mechanic so only cost incurred was for the part.
