Reviewed: 2002 Chevrolet Venture

4dr Minivan 185-horsepower 3.4L V6 4-speed automatic FWD

Why the 2002 Chevrolet Venture?

Exterior styling

Conservative but clean styling. Large windows give good overall visibility.

Fuel economy

Day in, day out,new average over 22 mpg. On long, gentle trips, close to 25 mpg. Good for such a practical vehicle. These are calculated figures.

Quietness

During normal, moderate driving, power train is quiet. Very little wind noise as well.

Cargo capacity

With second and third rows removed, can hold a tremendous amount of stuff (and this is the short wheelbase model). Automatic leveling rear suspension does tis job perfectly.

Why Not the 2002 Chevrolet Venture?

Materials & workmanship

Interior upholstery, moldings, etc. very cheap and not very durable. Rocker panels are rusting through after 9 years.

Brand reputation & image

Generally has a bad reputation re: reliability and residual value. I bought it used at 5 yrs old for a song.
