Why the 2014 Chevrolet Volt?

Fuel economy

So far have driven in the winter when you get the poorest mileage on the electric motor. I have 3100 km. on the car and lifetime gas consumption is 2.6 Liters per 100km. I dont think there is another car out there that can do this well and it will get even better in the Volt as the weather warms up from the minus 12 degree weather we have had all of Jan and Feb. I LOVE NOT HAVING TO FILL UP AT THE PUMPS AND STILL HAVE NO RANGE ANXIETY. I previously have owned two Prius and the Volt is way ahead in so many ways.

Quietness

I love driving all around town in silence. It is so peaceful and comfortable to drive.

Warranty, maintenance cost

Excellent 8 year full waranty on electrical systems. The combustion engine gets used so little that the service will not be until I get to 20,000km which will be about 2 years so very low maintenance costs.

Powertrain performance

The Volt has great torque and when you step on it from a stop it really takes off. Lots of power and SOO quiet.

Front seat room

  1. Really comfortable heated bucket seats.

Why Not the 2014 Chevrolet Volt?

Cargo capacity

The trunk is a little small but because it is a hatchback and the back seats fold down we have been able to carry all kinds of stuff.

Rear seat room & comfort

The car is only a four seter so there is no room if you have five people and with the front seats back all the way it is a little tight.

Brand reputation & image

Volt has not done a good job of telling people what a great car this is.

Other Features of the 2014 Chevrolet Volt

Tires

Compared to my previous car which was a 2012 Prius the Volt handles better on the road and is a lot more solid car. The steering is responsive and easy and it handles the bumpy roads much better. All round the Volt is a pleasure to drive and ride in while getting exceptional gas mileage.

Controls and instruments

The heating system is very good which has been nice with the cold winter we have had here in Canada thi year.

Conclusion

Want to save big time on gas get a Volt.
Electricity costs to fill it up each night while you sleep if drained right down is about $1.50.
