19 MPG for a fairly small, four-cylinder engine is barely acceptable. No advances in engine technology here. At least, none from the last 20 years. When driven gently, garaged and driven about 20 miles round trip per day (10% highway): 20 MPG. :-( see full Chrysler PT Cruiser review
