noise occurred at highway speed, followed by a smell of smoke and loss of pulling power. Complete drive train replaced except the rear end and transmission. After the shop tried to repair the problem 3 times, they said they could not find anything wrong but the symptoms would reappear after driving at highway speeds. Repair not successful. My local Chrysler dealer stated they did not carry repair manuals for a car that is 13 years old. That comment did not set well with me because the vehicle other wise works beautifully. I have heard comments from salvage yards that the car IS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. As if to say, it is not worth fixing. I would like to hear from a Chrysler tech that this is true. Any help would be appreciated.

After replacement of starter, noticed other problems: flexplate(flywheel) teeth missing. Had a certified mechanic replace flexplate. Owner purchased part from dealership (delivered with vehicle) owner paid only labor.
104000 mi

US $400
Gasket leaking at solenoid on transmission. solenoid replaced due to not being able to just replace the gasket.
85000 mi Found front differential carrier seal leaking. Replaced Seal.
68000 mi

US $60
Transmission cooler hose blew for unknown reason, resulting in massive transmission fluid leak - had to constantly fill with fluid just to limp to the shop (only 4 miles away, luckily, so no damage!)
114000 mi

US $20
There is a vibration in the vehicle at 30 - 40 MPH. This was diagnosed to be caused by the torque converter beginning to go bad. Repair is $600 without a Transmission rebuild, I decided to wait until it gets so bad I have to repair it.
