What Our Members Are Saying about the Real Dodge Dakota MPG

Dodge Dakota Fuel Economy: Pros
Year Body/Powertrain Comment
2004 0 Gas mileage is not too great. Essentially, it is no better than many larger trucks. Long trip highway mileage averages 19.5 mpg, but in-town driving really pulls it down. My driving is 75% highway, but just that 25% town driving pulls the mileage down to about 17.
Dodge Dakota Fuel Economy: Cons
Year Body/Powertrain Comment
2007 4dr Extended Cab 6.5ft bed 230-hp 4.7L V8 5-sp automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range It's a v8 4x4 truck. The mpg is awful. Not that you would expect different.
2007 4dr Crew Cab 5.5ft bed 210-hp 3.7L V6 4-sp automatic RWD HORRIBLE. EPA rated for 17city 20hwy but due to transmission problem, I doubt I exceeded 20mpg on most occasions.
2005 4dr Extended Cab 6.5ft bed 175-hp 3.9L V6 4-sp automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range 9 to 15 mpg for a V-6
