2013 Dodge Dart Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by Wheeljack

Past personal experience
Unlike many reviewers, I enjoyed my Dart overall. It had a sporty overall demeanor, and I found the 1.4L turbo engine to be fine - seems to me like most of the complainers expect it to have torque down at 1200 rpm, but it\'s a tiny turbo engine - you have to rev it to get results. I found the interior to be a comfortable place to spend time, and the seats were especially comfortable. The Limited I drove had a high level of equipment (heated steering wheel, 8.4\" touchscreen, HID headlamps, etc) and nice materials throughout. I was sad to see it go when I turned it in as my new car does not offer a stick shift like my Dart had.
Fuel economy
Considering the modest displacement (1.4L), I did expect better fuel economy, but it was an improvement on a prior vehicle. I also admit that I was an aggressive driver, so someone else with a milder driving style could probably improve on the fuel economy.
Quietness
Overall the car was very quiet on the highway, but in my daily commute on the battered roads in SE Michigan, there were a number of unresolved rattles that the dealer \"couldn\'t duplicate\". The rattles marred an otherwise solid feelingcar.
Powertrain performance
My only issue with powertrain performace was someodd bumpy-ness in the throttle response when taking off from a standing start. The sensation was similar to a misfire, but less severe. Harder acceleration tended to mask the sensation, but it was still there. Other than that, I was actually quite happy with the performance of the 1.4L turbo.
