Transmission shifts very rough and sometimes fails to shift up a gear under heavy acceleration.
61152 mi

C $500
Sever transmission leaking. The transmission was previously repaired by a dealership before I have bought the car from them. The work was not done properly by the dealership.
11000 mi Transmission is shifting strangely, particularly exhibiting a "flare" in RPM when shifting from 4th to 5th and from 5th to 6th. Also, it sometimes bangs into drive pretty hard when shifting from R to D. They reprogrammed the TCM. Problem has returned.
20000 mi This is my 3rd trip to try to improve transmission operation. This time I went to a different dealer. They said the same things the first dealer did, but they did do some reprogramming and add'l checks. Shifting is better, tho not perfect
51000 mi Rough shifting. Torque converter clutch failed, causing facing material to contaminate internals. New TC installed, transmission overhaul kit installed
97000 mi Poor shifting problem has been growing.. Had transmission reprogrammed before running out of warranty. For now, shifting is acceptable.
1000 mi Transmission banging into drive when shifting from reverse or park. Re-programmed transmission computer.
10000 mi Bangs into drive when shifting from reverse to drive. Problem corrected. No more bangng since van was in shop.
8370 mi Transmission would 'clunk' when selecting gears - dealer reset the computer and indicated that it was a known software issue. Transmission now operates very smoothly. Transmission would 'clunk' when selecting gears - dealer reset the computer and indicated that it was a known software issue. Transmission now operates very smoothly.
10770 mi Clicking noise coming from front left wheel when steering moved away from centre (both directions). Diagnosis was that axle nut not properly torqued (!) and allowed for play.
51800 mi Replaced flex plate under powertrain warranty.
620 mi Whirring noise when slowing down. Still trying to figure this one out.
Transmission clunked when shifting. Checked for flash program updates - all controllers were up-to-date. Cleared variable line pressures and performed "quick learn" procedure.
10000 mi In Economy mode, transmission "clunks" as car slows to 15 mph.
18000 mi Transmission "bumps" when slowing to 15mph in economy mode.
24800 mi The transmission has always "clunked" when slowing to 20 mph in Econo Mode. I was told this is normal. Now the transmission does the same thing in non Econo Mode which it had not done before. Again I was told this is "normal."
64000 mi Transmission failed, needed replacement. Close to a dealer, able to limp in. Chrysler paid 100% for the new transmission since there was still 26 DAYS left on the original warranty! Interesting they found the "fluid level overfull and burnt," since this was the original fluid that came with the car when new it should not have been overfull. After removing the transmission they found "ferrous debris" and "pump damaged, torque converter failed."
42000 mi CEL keeps illuminating, throwing transmission codes. Dealer reset codes. Still returning codes
