Reviewed: 2006 Ford Escape

4dr SUV 153-horsepower 2.3L I4 5-speed manual FWD

Why the 2006 Ford Escape?

Exterior styling

Practical and attractive with a durable non painted surfaces on the lower part of the body.

Reliability & durability

The 2.3L 4CYL engine is agreat little engine, and when teamed with the manual 5spd, provides a good level of fun and performance. As expected I have not returned to the dealer for anything since new.32000 miles.

Brand reputation & image

Ford has long held a reputation for providing a great product at a low price with unmatched reliability. The Ford Escape projects an image of smart practicality and good economy, coupled with versatile utility.

Price or payments

At my purchase price of $15800 I think my Escape is an unmatched value.

Powertrain performance

I pull a small travel trailer and still manage 25MPG highway, with the trailer. Also the Escape 2.3L 5spd can be driven in traffic with absolute impunity and stay with any traffic while always maintaining mid-twenties fuel economy.
