the rear end differential needs to be replaced as the bearings are wearing out. Ford says that the replacement part costs $2200.00 / $3600 installed. None of the Escape forums list this kind of problem.
CLUTCH OF REAREND ASSEMBLY PREMATURELY WORN OUT. METAL FILINGS FOUND IN REAREND OIL. HAD TO REPLACE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY WITH USED PART AS NEW PART TOO EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE.
The pinion seal and both axle seals on the rear dif. were leaking; told this is somewhat common for the age of the vehicle / driving in Canada.
Pinion seal/gasket reported 'seeping' during former repair, but was not critical. Repaired along with other warranty item.
Vehicle wouldn't drive, replaced transmission.
Front drivers side wheel bearing noise for several weeks. Developed a stronger vibration and found inner CV joint play. Replaced half shaft, wheel bearing, and while there, both struts/bearings, and rear shocks.
Vibration from U-joints on rear drive shaft.
ABS and AWD light coming in. Replace right front axle due to abs pick up ring broken off
Left front axle broke at c.v. joint. $170 for the axle, 1.5 hrs labour
