Getting off the freeway, I stepped on the clutch as I was slowing down so that I could down-shift. I quickly realized that the shifter was stuck in 5th. I pumped the clutch to see if that would help, but it didn't. Halfway down the Off Ramp I gave the shifter a firm tug and managed to get it into Neutral. When I tried to put it into 1st gear, no go, I was then stuck in Neutral, no other gear would engage. Had the shop treat the issue with a new Clutch Kit.

Transmission to axel seal leaking. Replaced with generic brand and it leaked again. Then replaced with Ford product and no leaks currently.
99000 mi

US $1600
Would not upshift, and then would not engage and act like it was in neutral. Test showed low pressure. A part broke inside and damaged the transmission. Now it shifts better than new - no more 20mph 'kick' if the gas is let off.

My RPM's were nearly 3000 in subzero weather for the first 15 minutes of driving. I wanted to know if this was weather related, or was my transmission telling me it was about to have problems. Service manager told me we needed to "reprogram PCM." It was a software update. It cost me $150. I was not happy. Free on computers. It led to my digital display being inaccurate for the next 1000 miles.
