Reviewed: 2005 Ford Excursion

4dr SUV, ext. 310-horsepower 6.8L V10 4-speed automatic RWD

Why the 2005 Ford Excursion?

Rear seat room & comfort

It boasts the best in class room for 7 passengers (including front seat passenger). The third row needs headrests but are easily added. (I did)

Cargo capacity

The space behind the third row is huge and perfect for a large family. It can tow just about anything a large family would need/want to tow.

Materials & workmanship

Ford is always top rate in toughness. There were some minor flaws like doors not aligned very well. But the materials used are tough if not overly beautiful.

Why Not the 2005 Ford Excursion?

Fuel economy

I know what it got. It is efficient for what it is. Compared to their smaller, less capable vehicles it gets "bad" mileage. However, for a 8K lbs truck with a non-aerodynamic design the average mileage of 13.5 (E10) is acceptable.
