Recurring fuel pump issue. After 3 years and 3 different repair shops including a dealer that said no problem found. I figured it myself with the help of youtube. Google the symptom and dozens of answers returns. There is even a TSB. Replace the pump works fine for a few years, replace again thinking it's a Chinese made problem and then a third time. When it started intermittently failing again I googled symptons, found the fuse issue and mine matched the pictures. Need to complete the TSB but did put a a good fuse in there and works fine. The TSB is the gas pump fuse is underrated for the fuse terminals and the fuse melts breaking connection. Can go on for a few weeks of a crank no start condition before the condition reverses and the truck starts. Finally once did it didn’t start and had to fix it. The TSB reroutes power to another terminal in the fuse box with an adapter. There is a Ford part number for this. |
