Why the 2006 Ford Freestyle?

Powertrain performance

Very smooth with the CVT, not underpowered like some claim. Excellent freeway cruiser. Engine and transmission are integrated very well.

Fuel economy

Superior to anything in its class for freeway MPG. Only turns over 1900 RPM @ 70 mph, 27+ MPG depending on conditions. Mixed fuel economy is not bad either, my wife drives 50/50 city/highway and we average just over 21 mpg. Very satisfied with MPG.

Handling

Better at highway cruising but center of gravity is lower than our Mazda MPV,so handling is not bad considering size of vehicle. Very good at supressing bumps and road imperfections (17" wheels on our FWD Limited). Steering ratio is quicker than expected.

Quietness

Lexus-like on the freeway. Little to no road noise or wind noise. Some engine noise during hard accelleration but not objectionable.
