Ford Fusion Reliability and Durability: Pros

2011 4dr Sedan 141-horsepower 2.0L I4 Hybrid
CVT FWD
So far, not one problem
2010 4dr Sedan turbocharged 178hp 1.5L I4
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
I had a 2006 Ford Fusion SE V6 before my 2010 and it was an excellent car, and only got the 2010 because I fell in love with the looks of it. I put 65,000km on my 06 Fusion in 2 and a half years and no problems. It was a great and very reliable car.
2010 4dr Sedan Well engineered and assembled. Comfortable ride and handling. No rattles, loose trim, etc. Good fit and finish.
2010 4dr Sedan turbocharged 178hp 1.6L I4
6-speed manual FWD
History of the previous model showed above average reliability in Consumer Reports
2010 4dr Sedan Consumer Reports says more reliable than Accord or Camry. After 9,000 miles, so far so good. We were going to buy an Accord but they have luggage mashing trunk hinges, but not the Fusion. Plus the Accords are ugly.
2010 4dr Sedan 141-horsepower 2.0L I4 Hybrid
CVT FWD
I have had zero defects or problems in the 28+K miles on the car. The only complaint I have with the car is the sun visors are not user friendly, they have fixed detents and you can not get them to stay in the desired location without a little effort.
2009 4dr Sedan Past results have been favorable and I have had no issue after 2900 miles.
2009 4dr Sedan When comparing reliability with some other cars I considered, Nissan Altima for example, I noticed that Ford Fusion owners rate its reliability close to the owners of Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.
2009 4dr Sedan turbocharged 178hp 1.5L I4
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Built strong with attention to detail. Have heard nothing but good things from fellow Fusion owners as to weather they were happy they bought theirs or not, so I bought mine, and agree 100%
2009 4dr Sedan feels solid, good reviews

2010 4dr Sedan 141-horsepower 2.0L I4 Hybrid

This is a new car in hyrbid that has no track record
2006 4dr Sedan turbocharged 178hp 1.6L I4
6-speed manual FWD
Absoulutely aweful. Put 2 clutches and 1 engine in this car. It was used as a family vehicle, but was in the shop more than we drove it.

2011 4dr Minivan, ext. 266-horsepower 3.5L V6

Toyota (regardless of people feel) is a company that produces dead reliable cars.
2010 4dr Minivan, ext. 266-horsepower 3.5L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Toyota is perceived to produce reliable cars. I'm hoping this one proves right.
2009 4dr Minivan, ext. 266-horsepower 3.5L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Toyota stood behind their warranty. They did not just "reset the computer"... they got to (hopefully) root cause. See below on dislikes.

I considered the Odyssey and Sienna to replace my 00 Chrysler T&C LTD. I had a better selection of Sienna's, and their reliability is reported to be much better than the Honda.
2007 4dr Minivan, ext. 266-horsepower 3.5L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
This is the most reliable minivan on the market. I hear the Honda drives just a bit better but it is not as reliable
2007 4dr Minivan, ext. 266-horsepower 3.5L V6

Excellent product reviews and manufacturer reputation. 50,000km and no problems thus far.

I had major computer (electrical?) issues - all warning lights on console lit up. Details: NHTSA.gov TSB. Multiple trips for repair and 30 days loss of use to remedy. I bought Toyota over Honda due to (TQM) quality methods. I feel somewhat cheated here.
2004 4dr Minivan, ext. 266-horsepower 3.5L V6

We have had at least 8 recalls on the car We have replaced the transmission which was faulty from day one Run flat tires are horrible - bad decision
