12400 mi PTU passenger side wheel seal leaking, seal changed and no leaks since. was in for oil change last week about 4 weeks since repair and still no leaks
25000 mi Transmission shifts hard into lower gears, this is worse on a cold start. In addition, on colder days it slams into gear between 2nd and 3rd on upshift and downshift.
30000 mi I have been complaining about hard shifts with the transmission in the lower gears. The technician verified that it was shifting harshly, however they determined that once the transmission warmed up the shifting was normal. Ford claims that this was normal for my car to have harsh shift hesitation on a cold transmission and there is nothing they can do about it. NO REPAIR PERFORMED
34514 mi The dealer finally acknowledged that their was indeed an issue with the transmission on this car. They rebuilt the transmission finding issues with the clutch, 1st gear, 3rd gear, 5th gear and Reverse.
62000 mi also trans hard banging shifting but dealer won't touch it, didn't act up when I took it in.
AWD failure indication.
18000 mi Solenoid in transmission was replaced due to hard shifting conditions from park to reverse and hard up/down shifts from 3rd to 4th gear. TSB is available, the dealer told me more than once there was nothing wrong until I searched and found the TSB myself, they then agreed to perform repair. But quirks now returning two months later.

Shifter linkage detached at the transmission. Dorman makes a $15 part to repair it, but it is a PITA to get to and the Dorman instructions suck. It took two tries to get it right. This is not the recently recalled shifter issue (that is in the console), but honestly they should recall for this as well. If you are not handy go to AutoZone and by the Dorman part and take it to your mechanic to install. If you take it to Ford they will want to replace the entire shift cable assembly and it is expensive!
