2008 Honda Accord Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by vpanetta68

Audio & nav systems
The premium audio is very good and the NAVI is excellent. Easily an industry best system. Its easy to use, has tons of features including Bluetooth for handsfree calling, and the voice commands work very well.
Safety & braking
Tons of safety features standard even in the base models: ACE, ABS, EBD, brake assist, VSA, full compliment of airbags, active head restraints . . .
Quietness
Road roar on the highway, especially as the OEM Michelins wear, is almost ridiculous. Uncomfortable to have to listen to it or a blasting radio to cover it for drives of a couple hours or more.
Fuel economy
The Accord has gained enough weight that their engines no longer return the exceptional MPGs of the preivous model. Honda refuses has no 6 gear transmissions which should help. Fuel economy is average at best. Would never achieve 40mpg as I did before.
Materials & workmanship
Hard, easily scratched plastics litter the interior. Chrome door handles replaced by flimsy plastic pieces. Misaligned panels. Flashing visible on the edge of some interior pieces.
Discounts & incentives
Honda rarely offers discounts or incentives - which is OK because even at a negotiated priced under MSRP, value and features are built in. However, beware of sinister dealers that will add mark ups ABOVE sticker.
