2013 Honda Accord 4dr Sedan

278-horsepower 3.5L V6 6-speed automatic FWD

10000 mi Transmission seems to make a couple more "clunks" than usual. (Forgot to tell them that I heard this with the window down! ;-) ) Note made in the car's record, just in case.
15000 mi

US $100
Had a tech listen to transmission while test-driving after other repairs. Nothing unusual, but I was assured that Honda's powertrain warranty of 5 years/50K miles would handle future problems.
37000 mi replaced torque converter under warranty
38500 mi

US $245
leaking axle seal
76435 mi

US $531
Judder issue caused by honda trying to optimize the code in the Trans to run for perfect EPA results. cook the fluid. Honda then had me pay for 3 changes of the trans fluid and changed the code.
78544 mi

A few months later, same issue with transmission judder. This time replaced the trans.

31000 mi

US $225
Transmission was slow in Reverse . . . took time to even start moving backwards. Transmission fluid was Black . . . took 2 transmission flushes to get MOSTLY Clear. I Dumped the car and traded it in.
31000 mi The Transmission fluid was completely black. Flushed twice and still black. Dumped the car.
9500 mi Replaced transmission valve body. Honda Technical Service Bulletin. Hesitation, mostly when the car's warming up. Occasionally the car would not engage reverse when it was cold until pressure seemed to build in the system. Grinding noise and lack of acceleration on freeway and backing out from the new valve body. Honda instructed the dealer to drain the fluid, check for metal or debris and refill. The car still hesitates when cold and occasionally when warm.
14000 mi Honda just came out with another fix, new valve body and reprogram the computer. It fixed about 80% of the hesitation.

2013 Honda Accord 4dr Sedan

185-horsepower 2.4L I4 CVT FWD

27000 mi The AC belt was worn out and the CV joint was cracked.
23000 mi It's a CVT, and it had a low-speed judder, which I gather is pretty common. They did a software upgrade, which fixed the problem. It wasn't a big deal, really.
50000 mi Transmission valve body replaced per TSB in order to cure jerky behavior.
74000 mi Oil leaks around axle shaft.
8000 mi Transmission had slight hesitation and shudder when cold. This has only happened 2 times in the 8,000 miles I have driven. Dealer could not find any problems. Told me to keep an eye on it and if it happened again they would look farther.
7000 mi Cvt valve body replaced per TSB 13-053rn7,100 miles
14000 mi Car went in for a repair under a technical service bulletin from Honda regarding significant juddering from the CVT - this vehicle fell within the VIN range and was experiencing the issue significantly.
19900 mi Jerking CVT. Replaced the valve body and updated the transmission firmware. It was under the associated TSB.
7000 mi Harsh shifting and judder when starting off cold.
12000 mi Harsh takeoff and judder from CVT. TSB for problem
CVT fluid leaking. Originally diagnosed as torque converter seal - when repair was done, diagnosis was changed to wheel axle seal. Repair done under warranty.
Continued transmission fluid leak. Dealer found pinhole leak in the CVT casing. Entire CVT assembly was replaced. Dealer had to provide photos to the manufacturer before replacement of CVT was authorized under warranty. Car had 210 miles.
9400 mi CVT transmission would surge at times. Valve body was replaced and software updated.
5000 mi intermittent 4-5 sec. delay on accelerating after coming to a rolling stop. if you are trying to cross on coming traffic it can kill you. service adviser says all 2013 accords do it no fix.
