Reviewed: 2006 Honda Civic

Why the 2006 Honda Civic?

Reliability & durability

Overall very reliable in almost 4 years it has never been in the shop other than services and tire replacement in 50000 km (30000mi)

Safety & braking

EX equipped with front and side air bags and 4 wheel disc brakes good crash safety ratings.

Past personal experience

Father in law drove 2 Accords and had no significant problems over 10 years of use.

Depreciation

Holds resale value well for a small car.

Exterior styling

We liked the new styling when it came out in 2006.

Why Not the 2006 Honda Civic?

Ride smoothness

I find the handling is good but the ride is quite harsh overall you feel every pothole and joint in the road.

Quietness

Road noise very pronounced, its hard to talk at highway speeds when driving on rough pavement.

Fuel economy

EPA was 50 MPG (IMP Gal) i have never done better than 41.3 MPG.

Feature availability

I wanted leather interior and this was not available in 2006 model year but I think it is now. I live in Canada so it is only useful if it includes heated seat as well.

Price or payments

Price was non-negotiable in 2006 it should be better in the current economy.
