It does not have a fuel advantage for being a unit body. I am getting only a 1 mpg combined city/highway economy improvment over my Dodge Ram 3500 Megacab Diesel 4x4(which has been sold to buy this Honda.)
I did a lot of hauling of Do it yourself type of home improvements. The Dodge pulled everything like nothing was in the bed. The Ridgeline notices 10 retainer wall bricks (400lbs) and "acts like the little engine that could" But wife loves it more than.
Its ungly. Bought it so wife can drive a pick up "type" truck, to haul bags of potting soil and small STUFF and be able to park within walking distance to building. Ram took up two spaces. Sometimes 4 spaces. Proabably will be bying a smaller RAM soon
