2010 Hyundai Genesis 4dr Sedan

290-horsepower 3.8L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic RWD

154070 mi

C $300
O2 sensor needed replacment.
108000 mi See above. Engine is turning over way too long before starting. Started after the spark plugs were replaced at 100,000 miles. The dealer did that work, and cannot explain the prolonged turnover after testing for two full days. Car always starts. The battery is fine. To be fair, I am presuming the problem started with the spark plug replacement, and I am associating the problem with that maintenance step, because it never happened before the maintenance, and has been happening from the time I first picked it up. It's been back to the dealer, and they have not identified the problem.
111000 mi Car turning over too long was re evaluated by the dealer, but they feel it's the fuel pump now, and suggested that I live with the problem. The car always starts, but if the car did not have a glass mat battery I suspect the battery would have gone dead from how long the car has to turn over.
16160 mi Gas cap does not tighten properly. No click. Replaced gas cap.
17000 mi Car will not start even after the battery has been checked and charged
12000 mi Throttle body & sensor required replacement. Was covered by warranty 100%
20000 mi Oil Control Valve failed, check engine light came on. CVVT was not working till repair completed. 2nd engine related issue in 1 yr ownership, and I take excellent care of the car..above and beyond most owners.
21000 mi Oil control valve failed again after 2 replacements... PCM failure (brain of the car) both replaced under warranty...check engine light on again 400 miles later.
44000 mi ECM and OCV bad 2nd time on each, replaced under warranty.
6000 mi Genesis 3.8 engine makes a harsh "rock-rock-rock-rock-rock" sound at about 2000 rpm under load. Several people have commented. I have a video on YouTube (search "Hyundai Genesis 3.8 Sound") documenting it. Two dealers--no help.
