Transfer box oil seal failed causing internal failure of transfer box due to total oil loss. Transfer box replaced.
Severe vibration and noise from transmission. Transfer box oil found to be burnt and contained metal. Transfer box replaced. Vibration and noise still apparent. 4WD electromagnetic coupling found to be damaged internally and replaced.
Transmission started 'kicking' while shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd, reprogrammed.
Transmission 'kicked' considerably from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th, then 'check engine' light.
Universal joint replaced (2nd time in less than two years)
On turns and excelleration the rear would thump and then shutter. They replaced AWD coupeling under warranty. Said it would have been $1500 otherwise.
I was told that my problem was a possible drive shaft. After trying a temporary drive shaft the noise was still there. Then I was told it was possibly the transfer case. Well that did not solve the problem. Hyundai has not responded back yet. The transfer case was replaced.
clutch developed a rattling and banging and the clutch peddle was hammering when you placed your foot on it. It also developed a harsh vibration when accelerating, even lightly. it is in at the moment having the clutch and flywheel replaced.
Transmission kicking and pushing from 2nd to 3rd gear. Dealer has replaced the Transfer case. Also car did not start once. Motor was cranking but not starting. After a fee minutes motor finally started. Shop will look into it.

Torque coupler from front to rear drive wheels locks up and causes wheels to shudder and chirp. Part has been replaced multiple times but problem consistently returns.
transmission made loud noises twice in 2 days, for about 100 yards. Dealer contacted Hyundai HQ and was told to implement TSB 14-AT-009 which required reprogramming the ECU and replacing the inhibitor switch bracket, whatever that is.
Front differential blew only a few months after the rear differential had gone. Hyundai refused to carry out repaire under warranty so had to seek legal help. Eventually they agreed so long as I replaced all four tyres although two where new
The vehicle had a vibration between 30 and 40 KM/per hour. The dealer replaced the passenger side axle stating it was loose. The vibration continued. The dealer offered to replace the driver axle at $500 to see what happens. I declined.
Clutch cable broke twice. Fluid drop because that. Car has to be towed.

clutch slave cylinder noise ( clack ) when pressing/depressing the clutch pedal. Appointment for 7 of July to the dealer..will see the result after
They thought that it was the clutch slave cylinder but in fact as undoing transmission they found that the culprit was the clutch disc, more precise the clutch disc springs. They were loose with a lot of play in the clutch disc case.
currently a new grinding sound so loud and bother some, either transaxle, esc sensor or abs sensor issues (we googled). dealer says its normal dont worry. feel lied to this sounds expensive. (date should say 2011 not 2010)
Vehicle can be turned off and key removed from ignition with vehicle still in "Drive". Vehicle able to roll if on grade. Vehicle could be turned off and key removed while still in drive. We again reported noise in the transmission, again the dealer couldn't duplicate the problem.
Apparently a known issue, bad sensor causing high RPM on ignition, car slams from 1st to 2nd, hard on the tranny. Car may go into maintenance mode. Dealer switched out a sensor, still high RPM on ignition, but not slamming into 2nd
Car suffered from sloppy shifting. They reset the transmission learning process. Yes, it now shifts better, but this is a workaround, not a fix
Axle noise cured by insertion of plastic washer as per TSB. No charge.
Reversed down driveway noticed oil trail from car. Towed to dealer service dept. Diagnosed that Mainshaft in Transmission had snapped in half! Tranmission replaced under warranty. Refused replacement car - very poor customer service!!
Turning hard right from stand the motor would stall unexpectedly. Impression something is tightening and not allowing the vehicle to roll freely. Reversing to & from curb would make thump in transmission/drivetrain. Has got much worse.
Hyundia were unable to fix the problem.They now say the car is putting more drive to wheels which is causing the problem. Answer for not being able to fix the problem. It is lemon and no lemon laws in State.
Car now out of warranty and Hyundai Representative has fail to reply letters forwarded.
Still not fixed. Drives good in 5th gear which is most of the time but clunking / twisting is when moving from reverse to first or vice versa, or towing.
Car now out of warranty and Hyundai's representative is now saying the problem they have tried to fix is "in short, this binding sensation is caused by the AWD systems". They can not fix. Hyundai have Agent warranty bill $14,500.
HYUNDAI built LEMON. Hyundai computer not showing problem yet they have spent at least $14,500 trying to fix the problem. Clunking is getting worse. Not spending anymore on problem. No one wants to trade my car & Dealers recon it is rubbish.
The Clunking problem now is showing when slowing just prior to stopping or using brakes which makes it show every time.
Problem still not fixed as this garage thought it was the same problem that new parts had already replaced original
Had the car serviced, the same night clutch failed. Roadside assist said master cylinder gone. Car towed to dealer. Replaced under extended warranty
lost 4and 5th gear,plus reverse,dealer wouldnt warranty.replaced with used tranny from 2005 santa fe with 20,000miles.
loud clunking noise in drivetrain,hyundai dealer said was tranny just replaced,used tran under warranty.took 2nd shop,replaced transfer case.still not fixed.unplugged rear differential myself.runs fine in front drve.
After repeatedly having the vehicle in for evaluation for a transmission "thunk" when cold, it finally failed. AFTER the warranty ran out.
Hoses that run transmission fluid through the radiator rusted & fluid leaked out. My mechanic called the dealer for parts, they sent the wrong parts, then they sent the right parts. My mechanic replaced them. Herb Chambers Hyundai stinks.

Power Transfer Case oil Leak. Remove PTC put a new sealing.
Drive shaft support bearing was replaced
Replaced leaky return line. Replaced two seals on rear of transfer case.
Needle bearings in transmission failed. Had to replace entire transmission with a good used one from a wrecking yard. Transmission was so jammed with metal fragments that SUV would not go forward or reverse!
