Introduction

This has been one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. I fear that scince this drivetrain is so rare any major breakdown could turn this car into a paperweight. There is no support from jeep or vm mortori USA.

Why the 2006 Jeep Liberty?

Powertrain performance

Driving and towing power is second to none for a vehicle this size.

Fuel economy

With a few mods., I get a combined 26 mpg and a solid 30 mpg highway.

Why Not the 2006 Jeep Liberty?

A deaf friend of mine just got talked into trading in her black 2003 Jeep Liberty with 133,000 miles and leather seats for this 2006 silver Liberty that has about 61,000 miles and cloth seats that I'm concerned will get stained as you say just from water. She had insurance and could have paid $100 deductible to have her side window fixed and another $100 to replace the battery and otherwise the car extremely well- maintained and I think could be considered "very good condition"

I texted her to not do anything until I checked True Delta and Consumer Report (looks like only one review on here) but she got talked into it by slick dealer and now stuck with $150 payment for five years and she is 58 living on fixed income about $1000. She says they gave her $2000 value for her old car yet KBB says it is worth almost $4000 to a private party in good condition whereas the newer 2006 is worth only about $3500 more so I think she has made a huge mistake getting herself in debt for five years $9000) with a car that looks like could be difficult to find a dealer who knows where to get parts and how to repair it. I just saw the car and it looks like it has been "ridden" hard and even after clean up by dealer, sand and stuff can't get to in the corners and possible rust cover up...The motor has been painted to look new too. Something doesn't seem right.

We are going to show a friend and she is saying she might take it back and I think I would too if it were me. I'll updated this when I have more time.
