Light signaled a problem with the TCM, I think 0035 and 0031. Did not address issue. After 2 weeks, driving I lost forward motion, caused by transmission failure. I was told lubrication had not been making it to some part. Was told it is common w/Liberty

Check engine light came on. Took to dealer. Dealer said it was a transmission failure. They estimated $3,100 to repair. I took it to another local transmission repair shop. They completed the work in one week for $2,100. No issues since.
Transmission sometimes downshift into 1st with a jarring thunk as though rear-ended. Dealer said it is a "quirk" of the Liberty and "normal." Now it occasionally starts with same. Dealer said "normal," AAMCO said a defect in design, nothing to fix.
