2015 Jeep Patriot Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: An OK rental vehicle with some practicality. by jrexplore

Driving position & visibility
Good headroom for tall people. Large square windows give good visibility all around, although it is necessary to fold down the right rear seat to see out the window on that corner.Back seats are comfortable, front seats are not. Better outward visibility than most suv's and certainly better than any passenger car.
Controls and instruments
Simple large dials for the heat and AC controls, can operate these with gloves on. No stupid little buttons or annoying touchscreen to distract the driver.
Exterior styling
Large square outside mirrors are excellent for checking to the rear.
Powertrain performance
The 4 cylinder motor gives just adequate performance if using the manual shift feature of the auto stick shifter. If left in Drive, the vehicle is VERY sluggish and incapable of keeping up with traffic.
Front seat support & comfort
The front seats are uncomfortable. They are both crooked, leaning to the side, so you need a pillow to isolate your back from the side bolster on one side that digs into your back. The head restraints push your neck forward and are not removable for adjustment. The driver's seat could use a height adjuster ( apparently available as an option on some models ).
Handling
The suapension feels out of date, does not handle sharp dips or pavement joints well.
An OK rental vehicle, better headroom than most for tall drivers. Occasionally these 2WD jeeps go on sale for a low price, but I don't see the point of owning a Jeep that is not 4WD. As a rental vehicle it is fine.
