6-speed automatic 4WD w/low range		I bought used with 20K miles on it when gas was $4/gallon. Used prices were very depressed relative to new; try to find one with low miles, relatively new and in great shape. Plan on keeping this one for 7-8 yrs (if you can afford the gas).

5-speed manual FWD		 Last Kia I sat in was about 8 years earlier - cheap flimsy plastic. When I sat in the Rio, I was immediately impressed by the improvements they have made. When I get passengers who have never ridden in a Kia before, they often say they are surprised to.

5-speed manual FWD		 It was built with the cheapest materials possible. Replaced OEM tires with cheapest ones I could find and the car handled better than it did brand new. Carpet is amazingly thin, etc.
