Manual transmission. Hesitation, surging, poor throttle control. Dealer says there's nothing they can do since there's no code and that I just need to get used to the electronic throttle. I will be getting a different car.
Dealer could not fix issues with hesitation and surging, so got rid of the car.
Winter temps got to zero or minus, engine temp randomly drops to half or less of usual gauge reading, drops interior heater temp by 15 to 20 degrees.Dealer changed thermostat, but problem continues. Never happens in warmer weather.
Misfire related to GDI fuel system, replaced injectors and DI fuel rail. Removed head and cleaned carbon deposits off of valve stems because of build up from GDI poor design.
Misfires. Fixed by running carbon cleaner through the motor.
Noticed loss of horsepower, checked sparkplugs and found wear. Replaced with iridium sparkplugs.
Squeaking coming from engine
Timing belt replaced as well as 2 other belts.
Car wouldn't start (keyed ignition). Engine tried to turn over but wouldn't. Personal mechanic tested battery, charging system, starter - all OK. Turned ignition on few times, car started.
Transmission lurching with very hard shifts from second to third..
car would not start. Has push button start. Could not depress brake pedal to engage brake switch. Happened 3 times. Eventually pedal would soften up and car would start. This time, we got it towed. Driver tried to jump it without luck.
Engine stopped.MIL light on,stayed on as we drove home.On starting car up 3 days later-no MIL light-car ran normally. Agent-detected faultcode-was reset. problem thought to be ice in fuel, I think wax separation in fuel most likely cause.
check engine light came on saying that the car was taking to long to warm up.
Gas cap seal leak; replaced with new cap.
Changed timing belt at 63000 miles. It was due again and I knew it; just "not this week". at 140,000 it broke. Two valves, two pistons, machine work, and labor: $1450. This is not a fault of the care; it is a fault of the owner.
Car died again (less than a week after being told at dealer that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle) and had to be towed. This time dealer replaced starter and ignition. So far car has not died again. I am keeping my fingers crossed!
Serpentine belt replaced
replaced purge valve
Rusted heat shield
Premature wear on Accessory Belts caused a need for replacement of all three
Check Engine light came on; when software was reset, light went out and never came on again.
Timing belt replaced
Exhaust leak within down pipe. Replaced down pipe and flex pipe assembly.
Loud squealing coming from car. First time could not locate it. Then took back and pointed it out. After they had it they said it was a alternator so they replaced it then noise still there then determined bad water pump and replaced it.
The antenna coil had to be replaced... the car would not start periodically.... apparently it thought the wrong key was in the ignition. The antenna coil was replaced... had no further issues.
Cranked, no start. Plenty of battery charge for accessories. Towed by KIA Roadside: said engine flooded (by tow driver), started after draining. 2nd dealer days later: perhaps not quite enough charge for all components. No issues since.
Emissions Control Light Came on. Was the seal at the gas cap. Replaced under warranty.
bad catalytic converter. Entire converter and exhaust manifold replaced.
faulty fuel pressure valve!
Constant check engine light on. Issues filling with gas (have to pump extremly slowly or it will over flow). Replaced valves, sensors and part of the intake hose into the gas tank. Problem still occuring!
Same as before. Problems at gas pumps and check engine light on. Dealer replaced the canister and c.c valve. So far so good!
Transmission was slipping and surging. There was a TSB on this problem which needed a flash update. Car runs beautifully now.
Premature degradation of spark plugs shorted out engine coil pack. New spark plugs were installed snd will be examined every 6 thousand miles for plugs burning out.
Fuel Purge Solenoid failure
eng and trans continue to pull after releasing throttle until car speed drops below 25mph. while applying brakes you must release pressure when car gets to 25 mph or you will be standing car on its nose
Replaced the belt, it was getting worn and had started cracking.
I have taken the soul back to the dealer, and they "flashed" the tranny, but to no effect. It is now worse.
I am going back again to have it looked at.(third time now).
The transmission is still doing the same thing! Head office is now involved, but I'm not getting anywhere with them.
Sure Kia has a good warranty, but if they keep denying the problem is there, what good is it?
